Cameron Barney advises Grain Connect on £10m funding from the Albion Real Assets Fund

November 2019

Cameron Barney LLP is pleased to announce that it acted as financial adviser to Grain Connect (“grain”) in obtaining an initial GBP10million of funding from the Albion Real Assets Fund (“ARAF”) – a fund managed by Albion Capital.

Grain is one of the leading providers of ultrafast fibre broadband services to predominantly new build communities across the UK. This investment by ARAF will enable grain to expand its network and service offering, grow its team and capitalise on the latest phase of new housing developments across the UK. Grain will continue to work with Pinnacle Group to support communities within the Pinnacle portfolio. At the same time as this investment, grain has concluded the acquisition of certain fixed network assets from Solway Communications.

We are very pleased to have advised grain on this transaction. Grain is already providing a compelling service to owners of new build properties and has built close relationships with several house-builders. This investment enables grain to grow substantially faster and support many more developments nationwide.
— Brian Robertson, Partner, Cameron Barney

We are delighted to welcome ARAF as a shareholder.  They are already very familiar with the UK fibre broadband sector and will enable us to fulfil the next phase of our growth plans.  Cameron Barney is also one of the UK’s most experienced advisers in raising capital in this sector and provided the Company and our founding shareholders (Pinnacle and Solway) with excellent advice.  We very much enjoyed working with them.
