Charles has advised public and private company boards and entrepreneurs for over 30 years at Cameron Barney and previously as a director at Goldman Sachs, Jefferies and Kleinwort Benson, working in London, New York and Tokyo.

In 2002 he was appointed CEO of the quoted cloud and on-site data storage provider InTechnology plc; in 2008 he co-founded Encore Ventures which acquired and managed a portfolio of private equity interests from 3i; and within Cameron Barney he sits on the Investment Committee of the Digital Infrastructure Investment Partnership.

Jemma joined Cameron Barney in July 2021 to lead the debt advisory practice. She has over a decade of corporate finance experience with expertise in debt financings, credit analysis and M&A. She has extensive experience creating bespoke financing solutions for a wide range of clients in the utilities and infrastructure sectors including core and core plus, communication, transportation and social infrastructure, pioneering technologies, businesses services, regulated utilities, renewables etc. She has held positions in Utilities, Transport & Infrastructure M&A and Structured Finance teams at Rothschild and most recently was a Director in Evercore’s Capital Markets Advisory team and Head of Ratings Advisory for Europe. She is passionate about ESG and sustainable finance, is an advocate for women in finance and co-founded Evercore's Women's Forum (EMEA).

Eleanor has over 15 years of investment banking experience. She was a Director at Citigroup and spent 5 years at Goldman Sachs in its equity research and investment banking divisions. Eleanor joined Cameron Barney in 2016 as part of their Women Returners program following time-out from the industry to focus on her young family.

Steven Fawkes - Partner, Cameron Barney

Steve has over 30 years experience at the intersection of sustainable energy and finance. He founded EnergyPro which has executed more than £60m of investment in the UK on behalf of its JV with EESL from India. He has been an NED for private and public companies and sits on the Investment Committee of the London Energy Efficiency Fund. He has published extensively on energy and sustainable finance and received awards from the Energy Institute, the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy and the India Business Group.

James Head

James joined the Cameron Barney team from Lazard’s financial advisory practice, where he focused on deals in the Energy Transition sector. Prior to Cameron Barney and Lazard James spent 6 years at PwC, the final 3 years of which were within the Corporate Finance practice advising on deals in the Digital Infrastructure and Energy Transition sectors. James is an ICAEW chartered accountant and holds a BSc in Economics from Lancaster University.

Sam Keanly

Sam joined Cameron Barney in 2018. Prior to joining Cameron Barney, Sam interned at PKF Francis Clark and Porta Wealth Management. He holds a BSc in Mathematics with Finance from the University of Exeter and a Masters in Finance from UCL.

Peter Norris
Partner    

Peter is an international investment banker who has advised corporates, private equity, governments and charities across a range of complex transactions. His early career was with Kleinwort Benson and HSBC Investment Bank and he later became Head of European M&A at Bank of America. Peter has advised on IPOs and other public and private financings, privatisations, and a variety of buy and sell side mandates.

Brian Robertson
Partner    

Brian has over 30 years of investment banking experience, having worked in the City since qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1985. For much of that time, he has specialised in the communications sector, working in financing and M&A in all the major development phases of the industry: including cable TV, Mobile communications, fixed-line liberalisation and, more recently, FTTH rollout, where he has helped raise finance for a series of UK operators. Brian is also actively involved in Cameron Barney's investment management activities and is Chairman of Wightfibre Limited.

Stefano Sasia

Prior to joining Cameron Barney, Stefano spent 3 years with Ince Corporate Finance and Zeus Capital, London where he worked on a wide variety of transactions but had a particular focus on real estate and debt financing. Stefano is a graduate of Bocconi University, Milan and also holds a Masters in Management from ESCP Business School, Paris.

Tim Stocks
Partner    

Tim qualified as a solicitor in 1983. He worked as a lawyer in both England & Wales and Hong Kong and became Head of Corporate Finance at international law firm Taylor Wessing LLP. In 2015, He founded and was CEO of corporate finance advisory firm, James Stocks & Co. which focused on real estate and infrastructure sectors. The firm was successfully sold in 2020. Tim’s extensive transaction experience includes fund raisings, restructurings, M&A and public issuance whilst acting for clients including European Sovereigns, companies, special purpose funding vehicles and institutions. Published works include: Corporate Finance Law and Practice, Securities Legislation in Hong Kong, plus articles for newspapers and journals on all aspects of the financial services industry.

Tom Strickland

Tom joined the Cameron Barney team after having spent six years at PwC as part of their infrastructure advisory practice in corporate finance. Tom has experience of advising a range of clients in the transport, real estate, urban regeneration and health sectors on major procurements, funding and financing strategies, financial structuring, bid-side advice, and post-deal support and negotiation. Tom is a CFA Charterholder and has a PhD in models of funding and financing urban infrastructure from Newcastle University.

Paolo Trani

Prior to joining Cameron Barney Paolo spent 2 years in the Corporate Finance team of KPMG, advising on a range of valuation engagements in the infrastructure sector. Previously he worked at Deloitte in audit and assurance, in the Large & Complex team. Paolo holds a master's degree from IE Business School and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Warwick.

Mark Vargo

Mark J. Vargo is a recognized business leader with 30+ years of experience in scaling, optimizing and transforming the commercial and operational activities of large and small high technology companies. His executive experience spans hardware, software and services businesses in Europe and North America, including leadership roles at EMC, IBM and Akamai.
As a Strategic Adviser within Cameron Barney Mark brings an additional commercial focus to support Cameron Barney’s clients in optimising their performance and strengthening their commercial processes when approaching a liquidity event and when raising capital. This is particularly the case in the context of digital infrastructure and services companies. Mark is based in London and serves as a non-executive director on a number of technology-centric companies.

Nick is an ICAEW chartered accountant and holds a Batchelors degree in Economics from Durham University.
